Cavani rescues a point for Man United against Newcastle
Dec 28, 2021
Edinson Cavani came to Man United’s rescue…netting a crucial equalizer to salvage a 1-1 EPL draw with Newcastle this morning.
Cavani’s goal also helped Ralf Rangnick avoid a first defeat as interim United boss.
The draw leaves the Red Devils in seventh place, seven points off the top four…but with games in hand over the teams above them.
Newcastle, meanwhile, remain second from bottom…two points away from safety.
Jurgen Klopp warns that footballers have been pushed to their limits…due to a busy schedule and absences caused by Covid.
This is why the Liverpool boss has renewed calls for the Premier League to revert to five substitutions during a match, to ease the pressure on the affected teams.
Klopp, however, is not optimistic that the move will happen, because some managers still feel that using five subs would give an advantage to bigger teams like Liverpool.
Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski are the latest to speak out against having a biennial World Cup.
The two strikers reckon the quality of the game would be affected, if overworked players are forced to play in the major tournament every two years.
The comments come as FIFA continues its push for a biennial showpiece event…with the governing body standing to make an extra 4 billion dollars with the switch.
National discuss thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin is eyeing his first ever Asian Games medal at next year’s event.
He feels its time for him to make a name for himself on the Asian stage…having already achieved success at the SEA Games-level.
