Havertz and Pulisic give Chelsea an edge over Lille
Feb 23, 2022
Chelsea have taken a big step towards the Champions League quarters.
The holders beat Lille 2-0 in the first leg of the last-16 at Stamford Bridge this morning.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Blues early in the first half, before Christian Pulisic sealed the win just after the hour-mark.
Meanwhile, Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw away to Villarreal in their last-16 first leg in Spain.
New signing Dusan Vlahovic gave Juve the lead after just 32 seconds into his Champions League debut, only for the home side to equalize in the 66th minute.
Tottenham will reportedly demand 100 million pounds to sell Harry Kane this summer.
It comes after sources suggested the striker would be open to a move to Man United, if former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino takes over at Old Trafford.
Kane is also believed to be demanding 350 thousand pounds a week, which would make him joint-second highest earner at United behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Roma boss Jose Mourinho has been handed a two-match touchline ban, after he was sent off during their 2-2 Serie A draw with Verona over the weekend.
The Portuguese manager – who went onto the pitch to argue with the referee before kicking the ball into the stands – was also fined 20 thousand euros.
Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.
They reportedly see the Senegal international as a back-up option, if they are unable to sign Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland this summer.
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly no longer being considered for the Man United job, despite being one of the earlier favourites.
Sources say Mauricio Pochettino, Eric ten Hag and Luis Enrique are the main contenders at the moment, to take over from interim United boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.
