Juventus president Andrea Agnelli now says the controversial European Super League cannot proceed!

Agnelli, who was one of the key architects of the project, was initially quoted as saying that the ESL will proceed, despite the withdrawal of six founding member clubs from the Premier League. 

However, he has now conceded that while he still believes in the ESL, the project is dead in the water.

Meanwhile Liverpool owner John W Henry has apologised to the club’s supporters for the Reds’ initial support of the Super League.

The American also says the club pulled out of the new competition in response to fan protests.

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are the latest clubs to pull out of the European Super League

They join Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham in withdrawing from the controversial league amid a huge public backlash.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan are the last remaining holdouts.
