England have booked their place at the World Cup after a comfortable 5-0 qualifying victory over Latvia.

Thomas Tuchel’s side advances with two games to spare.

In other selected European zone qualifying results…Spain hammered Bulgaria 4-0

Hungary held Portugal to a 2-2 draw

While Italy trounced Israel 3-0.

Elsewhere, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Senegal took the final three World Cup automatic qualifying spots for Africa.

While Qatar and Saudi Arabia got the results they needed to secure qualification from the Asian zone.

Back home…Malaysia survived an early scare to beat Laos 5-1 in their Asian Cup qualifier in KL last night.

Harimau Malaya remain top of their group with four wins from four…ahead of their next game against Nepal later next month.

And, Japan have created history by pulling off their first ever win over Brazil.

The Asian side battled back from two goals down to beat the five-time world champions 3-2 in their international friendly in Tokyo.
