EPL Title Race Blown Wide Open

The EPL title race has been blown wide open following shock home defeats for frontrunners Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Gunners fell to a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa…while The Reds went down 1-0 to Crystal Palace.

It leaves Man City top of the EPL standings…two points in front of Arsenal, who are ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

Over in Germany…Bayer Leverkusen have been crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history.

It follows their 5-0 win over Werder Bremen…which gives Xabi Alonso’s side an unassailable lead over Bayern Munich with five games still to go.

Leverkusen’s success also ends Bayern’s 11-year title-winning streak in the German league.

Elsewhere, leaders Inter Milan were held to a 2-2 draw by Cagliari…with Inter now needing a win in their next game to clinch the Serie A title.

And, Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin have finished as runners-up at the Badminton Asia Championships…after going down in three sets to their opponents from China in the men’s doubles final.
