Why The Europa League Is Important For Man United

Apr 10, 2025

why the europa leagye is important for man united

Man United boss Ruben Amorim has highlighted the importance of the Europa League, amid their disappointing season so far.

He says besides giving the team a huge morale boost, winning the competition will be their most realistic chance of competing in next season's Champions League.

United would also benefit from the additional prize money, which will help strengthen their squad.

He said this, as United resume their Europa League campaign tomorrow morning, when they travel to Lyon for their first leg quarterfinal tie.

Kyle Walker is facing an extended spell on the sidelines, after AC Milan confirmed that the defender had an operation for a fractured elbow.

Walker, who is on loan from Man City, suffered the injury in training recently.

--

Elsewhere, Man City will reportedly renew their interest in Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

He will replace Kevin de Bruyne, who's set to leave at the end of the season.

And at the Badminton Asia Championships, Malaysian shuttlers Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai have advanced the mixed doubles quarterfinals.

However our singles players Justin Hoh and Goh Jin Wei crashed out.
