Sep 04, 2019

Serena Williams had made the semifinals of the US Tennis Open in convincing fashion, with a dominant win over Wang Qiang of China.

The tournament favourite needed just 45 minutes to defeat her opponent 6-1, 6-love.

It was also Serena's 100th victory at Flushing Meadows.

She will next face Elina Svitolina for a place in the final.

Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev is the first to book his place in the semis of the men's draw with a win over Stan Wawrinka.

He awaits the winner of the tie between Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov.
