"I Don't Care If France Are Boring"

Jul 09, 2024

i don't care if france are boring

Didier Deschamps has brushed off criticism about the French team’s so-called ‘boring football’ at Euro 2024.

This, after his side reached the semifinal with all their goals so far coming either from the penalty spot or via own-goals conceded by the opposition.

Deschamps, however is not concerned by this, saying what’s important is the result.

He said this ahead of France’s semifinal clash against Spain tomorrow morning.

-

In other developments, ex-Spain midfielder Thaigo Alcantara has confirmed his retirement from professional football at the age of 33…after leaving Liverpool at the end of his contract.

-

Juventus are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Jadon Sancho and are willing to sell Federico Chiesa to raise funds for the Man United winger.

-

The national diving squad has failed to get an additional slot from World Aquatics for Ooi Tze Liang to compete at the Paris Olympics.

This means Malaysia will only have two divers competing at the Games this year - Bertrand Rhodict, who qualified on merit – and Nur Dhabitah Sabri, who got in via an unused quota spot.

-

And, Novak Djokovic has made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon…although fourth-seed Alexander Zverev has crashed out after a five-sets defeat to Taylor Fritz in the last-16.
