Canada’s Andre de Grasse has won the men’s 200m event, ahead of the American duo of Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles.

He takes over the crown from Usain Bolt…who dominated both sprint events over the last three editions of the Games.

De Grasse is also the first Canadian in 93 years to win the men’s 200m event.

Still on athletics, favourites the USA have failed to make the final of the men’s 4x100m relay, after only managing sixth place in their heats.

The USA, Great Britain and Jamaica were among those who qualified for the final of the women’s 4x100m.

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is expected to undergo a medial at Man City today, ahead of a move to the Premiership champions.

The 25-year-old is on the verge of becoming the most expensive player in Premier League history…with the deal valued at 100 million pounds.

City are hoping to wrap up the deal in time for Grealish to feature in the Community Shield tie against Leicester City this weekend.
