Malaysia’s campaign at the Thomas Cup is over, after a 3-1 loss to China in the semifinals.

Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik delivered the only point for our shuttlers…with Lee Zii Jia, Leong Jun Hao and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin all losing their respective matches.

China will next go on to face Indonesia…who defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the other semifinal tie.

Still on our athletes… the Malaysian hockey team has opened its campaign at the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament with a 5-4 loss to Pakistan.

Malaysian tower runner Soh Wai Ching has won the Tower Running World Championship…after taking first place in this year’s edition at the Taipei 101.

Real Madrid have been crowned La Liga champions for the 36th time.

This, after Barcelona fell to a 4-2 defeat to Girona…leaving Real with an unassailable lead with four matches to go this season.

Over in the EPL…Arsenal maintained their lead at the top of the standings with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

This, as second-placed Man City kept up the pressure with a 5-1 thrashing of Wolves…leaving the Citizens one point behind the Gunners with a game in hand.
