Man City are out of the Club World Cup!  

They exited the tournament after losing 4-3 in extra time in their last-16 clash against Saudi side al-Hilal. 

It went to extra time after the game ended level at 2-2 after 90 minutes.  

The result means that al-Hilal will be the only Asian team in the quarterfinals, and they will face Fluminense, who stunned Inter Milan 2-0.

Meanwhile, Man City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed that Rodri suffered an injury setback this morning, but didn't say how bad the new injury is.   

The Spaniard had only just returned to action, after recovering from a serious ACL injury.

The list of nominees for the 2024 Sportswriters Association of Malaysia Awards has been released.  

The shortlist includes men's doubles badminton pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, in recognition of their bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.  

Other nominees include tower runner Soh Wai Ching, bowler Sin Li Jane, wushu's Tan Cheong Min and lawn bowler Farah Ain Abdullah. 

Meanwhile, badminton's Cheah Liek Hou, powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin and track and field trio Ziyad Zolkefli, Latif Romly and Eddy Bernard are up for Para Athlete of the Year. 

The awards ceremony will be held on the 14th of this month.
