Wimbledon's fate to be determined next week

Mar 26, 2020

The All England Club says it will decide whether to postpone or cancel Wimbledon next week.

Playing the grass court tennis event behind closed doors has been formally ruled out, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to clear out the 2020 sporting calendar.

Wimbledon is the second Grand Slam that hangs in the balance, after the French Open was officially postponed from May to September, just one week after the completion of the US Open.

COVID-19 outbreak could affect football's summer transfer window

FIFA is considering changing the dates of this summer’s transfer window, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Discussions are underway, but it has yet to reach a decision on whether to delay or extend the next window.

Talks have also taken place over whether to change the rules in relation to player's contracts, as European football leagues aim to finish their domestic seasons by June 30th.

The coronavirus outbreak has led to a mass postponement of fixtures, including Euro 2020.

Farah Ann supports move to postpone Tokyo 2020

National gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi believes the decision to postpone the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is absolutely right.

She says she’s glad that the IOC heeded the call from athletes around the world, to put the health and safety of all athletes above all, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Farah adds that it’s a bonus that athletes who’ve already qualified for the Games, including herself, have a whole nother year to focus on their preparations.

Farah also admits that the move did disappoint her at first, as she had already planned out her prep for the Games up until July, but says the new decision only strengthens her resolve to work harder and better for 2021.
