Minnows hold Liverpool in FA Cup

Jan 27, 2020

Liverpool were held 2-all by Shrewsbury in their FA Cup 4th round clash.

This means that they will have to replay the tie next week.

Meanwhile, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp says he will field a youth team for the replay, as it's due to take place during the Premier League's winter break.

In other results, Manchester United demolished Tranmere Rovers 6-nil to move to the 5th round.

Man City posted a 4-nil win over Fulham.

Spain's La Liga has announced a series of measures to combat fan violence and racism, following two separate incidents at the weekend.

Officials say they will review how tickets are sold to matches, while it will make it easier for players to report racist abuse.

This is after Athletic Bilbao's Inaki Williams was racially abused during their match against Espanyol.

Meanwhile, Valencia's 2-nil win over Barcelona was marred by a fight among fans outside Valencia's stadium.

4th seed Simona Halep has booked her place in the quarterfinals of the Australian tennis Open, after beating fellow Belgian Elise Mertens in straight sets.

Later today, top seed Rafa Nadal will take on Nick Kyrgios in the men's singles.
