Liverpool's 30 year wait for a top-flight title is finally over!

The Reds have been crowned Premier League champions, after second-placed Man City's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea this morning, meant that the Reds have an unassailable lead in the standings.

City needed to beat Chelsea to hold on to their title for a bit longer...but a second-half penalty from Willian ensured a win for the Blues...and sent the Premiership trophy to Anfield.

This is Liverpool's 19th top-flight title overall...and their first since the 1989/1990 season.

It is also their first title in the Premier League era.

Jurgen Klopp's side have put on a dominant display this season, with 28 victories, two draws and just a single defeat to far this campaign.

Klopp says this is a special moment for him, and his players.

"Its unbelievable. Its much more than i ever thought would be possible. Becoming champions with the club is absolutely incredible. Its an incredible achievement for my players. What they did over the last 2-3 years is exceptional. Its a pure joy for me to coach them."

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, who was the last manager to guide the Reds to a league title, paid tribute to what Klopp has done for the club.

"Jurgen's been absolutely fantastic. On the pitch, with the players, but also with everybody connected with the club. The way he's got time and respect for people is a credit to himself and a great help to everybody"
