Datuk Nicol David makes winning start at the World Series Finals

Datuk Nicol David has made a winning start in her quest for a 3rd World Series Finals title, after beating American Amanda Sobhy in her first group match in the tournament in Dubai.
Nicol, who previously won the title in 2011 and 2012, will face Laura Massaro today.
Meanwhile, new world number one Nour El Sherbini lost her opening group match to fellow Egyptian Raneem El Weleily.
Over at the International Squash Open in Hong Kong, Low Wee Wern won both her qualifying matches to reach the main draw.
