Chelsea set to table Havertz bid

Jul 22, 2020

Chelsea will reportedly table an official bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz once they confirm their place in next season’s Champions League.

The Blues are in pole position to claim a top-four finish in the Premier League, as they are currently in third place on the table with two matches left this season.

One of those matches is against Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow morning.

Blues boss Frank Lampard confirms that he will give the newly-crowned EPL champions a guard of honour, as they deserve it.

“I’d be happy to give a guard of honour for a team that deserves it, having won the league in such style. We go there with huge respect. We’re competitive here but you have to understand their team won the league well and we’ll handle it in the right way.”

Catch Liverpool vs Chelsea from 3.15am LIVE on Astro SuperSport 3, channels 833 and 813 in HD.

Liverpool fans have slammed Chelsea’s social media team, after they posted a video of Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip on Twitter.

The incident cost Liverpool the title in the 2013-2014 season.

The post has since been deleted.

Dean Henderson will only commit his long term future to Man United if he is assured that he will become their no. 1 goalkeeper.

Henderson is said to be in high demand after an impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, where he has kept 13 clean sheets so far this season.

Henderson has been linked with Chelsea.
