Chelsea's Champions League hopes hang by a thread

Jul 12, 2020

Chelsea's hopes of Champions League qualification are under threat, after they lost 3-nil at Sheffield United this morning.

The Blues are currently third on the English Premier League table, and could fall out of the top-four if Leicester and Man United win their respective matches.

Meanwhile, Man City have secured second place after thumping Brighton 5-nil, with Raheem Sterling scoring a hat-trick.

Norwich have been relegated, after losing 4-nil to West Ham.

Watford beat Newcastle 2-1

And Champions Liverpool drew 1-all with Burnley

Man City boss Pep Guardiola says he's confident that the club WILL play in the Champions League next season.

This, as the Court of Arbitration for Sport will give its verdict tomorrow, on City's 2-year ban from European competition for breaches of UEFA's financial fair play rules.

City secured 2nd place in the EPL table, after beating Brighton 5-nil thanks to a Raheem Sterling hattrick and a goal each from Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva.

Barcelona have reportedly ended their interest in PSG's Neymar.

The Brazilian has long been linked with a return to Barca, but now it seems that such a move will NOT happen anytime soon.

According to Spanish media, it's because Barca's finances have become strained due to to the coronavirus outbreak, and they can't afford his transfer fee.
