Manchester City kicked off their Champions League campaign on the wrong foot - falling to a surprise 2-1 defeat to Lyon at the Etihad this morning.

City, who are one of the favourites to win the tournament this year, were missing Pep Guardiola in the dugout, with the manager serving a touchline ban.

Real Madrid defeated Roma 3-0
Bayern Munich overcame Benfica 2-0
Man United recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Young Boys. 
While Juventus defeated Valencia 2-1, in a match that also saw Cristiano Ronaldo getting sent off on his Champions League debut for Juve.

It was a straight red card for Ronaldo, meaning he could miss his return to Old Trafford for the tie against United next month.
