Australian Open: Nadal through to last four.

Second seed Rafael Nadal has powered into the semifinals of the Australian Tennis Open!

The 17-time Grand Slam Champ took out American Frances Tiafoe to book his spot in the next round, where he will be up against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

20-year-old Tsitsipas himself earned safe passage into the last four by earlier defeating Roberto Bautista Agut - becoming the youngest man to reach the semis of a Grand Slam event since 2007.

Over at the Tournament of Champions squash tournament in New York...

Top seed Reneem El Welily progressed to the semis of the women's singles draw after she took out fellow Egyptian Nouran Gohar 3-nil.

It is Raneem's first semis appearance at the event since clinching the title in 2015, and she will next battle New Zealand's Joelle King for a spot in the final.

Elsewhere, Malaysian mixed-doubles pro shuttlers, Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying advanced to the second round of the Indonesian Masters, with a straight sets win over their opponents from the host nation.
