Hosts and defending champions Qatar have made the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup after a 2-1 win over Palestine.

This, as Jordan scored twice deep into injury-time to snatch a 3-2 victory over Iraq in the last-16.

Meanwhile, Malaysia will have a presence at tonight’s last-16 tie between Thailand and Uzbekistan, where our very own Muhammad Nazmi Nasaruddin has been selected as the match official.

-

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk says he’s unsure if he will remain at the club after Jurgen Klopp steps down as manager at the end of the season.

The Dutch defender, however, refused to go into details – saying he remains focused on the Reds’ ongoing challenge for four trophies this campaign.

-

Separately, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has rubbished speculation linking him with the soon-to-be-vacant Barcelona manager’s job…saying such reports are totally untrue.

This, after Xavi announced that he is quitting as Barca manager at the end of the season.

-

And, the racket that Rafa Nadal used to defeat Roger Federer in the 2007 French Open final…has been auctioned off for more than half a million ringgit.
