Rule Makers Consider Throw-In Time Limit

Oct 29, 2025

rule makers consider throw-in time limit

The International Football Association Board – which comes up with the rules of the game – is looking into the possibility of imposing a time-limit on throw-ins.

It comes amid a surge in long-throws in the Premier League this season, which often involves lengthy preparations that sometimes take as long as free kicks.

This has led to a drop in the amount of time the ball is actually in play…raising concerns among the sports’ administrators.

-

Napoli have gone three points clear at the to of the Serie A standings after a 1-0 victory over Lecce.

Second-placed AC Milan, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta.

-

This morning’s EFL Cup action saw Brentford go through to the quarters after thrashing Grimsby 5-0.

Fellow Premiership side Fulham also advanced…after a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Wycombe Wanderers.

-

Back home in FA Cup quarterfinal action…JDT beat Penang 3-0 last night and 5-1 on aggregate.

While Kuching City were 5-3 aggregate winners over Terengganu…despite losing 2-1 last night.

-

And, our men’s doubles pairings of Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik…Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin…and Man Wei Choong-Tee Kai Woon have all advanced into the last-16 of the Hylo Badminton Open in Germany.
