Praise has been pouring in for Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik after the men’s doubles shuttlers were crowned World Champions yesterday.

They defeated Mohamad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia in the final of the Badminton World Championships to give Malaysia its first ever title in the competition’s history.

The Yang DiPertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong as well as the Prime Minister were among the leaders to congratulate the national pair.

Netizens have also been flooding social media with well wishes for Aaron and Wooi Yik calling their victory the perfect National Day gift for Malaysians.

Harry Kane scored twice, as Tottenham recorded a 2-0 EPL win away to Nottingham Forest.

Spurs, who are still unbeaten this season, now move up to third in the standings.

In other results, West Ham edged past Aston Villa 1-0.

While Newcastle and Wolves played out a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, Robert Lewandowski scored twice- for the second time in as many games- as Barcelona thrashed Valladolid 4-0 in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Karim Benzema scored two late goals, as Real Madrid defeated Espanyol 3-1…to maintain their perfect start to the season.

And, Max Verstappen fought his way up from 14th on the staring grid…to claim victory at the Belgian F1 GP.

He came in ahead of Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.
