Pang Ron-Su Yun stun Soon Huat-Shevon in France

Hoo Pang Ron – Chen Su Yin are through to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships in France.  

They advanced after beating Goh Soon Huat - Shevon Laii. 

Several other shuttlers will be competing for places in the last-eight today Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, and Goh Sze-Fei-Nur Izzuddin. 

There is also another all-Malaysian encounter, between Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Arif Junaidi-Yap Roy King.

Man United boss Ruben Amorim has issued a public apology after their humiliating defeat to 4th-tier club Grimsby in the 2nd round of the EFL Cup.  

He also offered no excuses for the result, simply saying that everything went wrong for them.  

Their EFL Cup exit means that the Premier League and FA Cup are their only chances for a trophy this season.

The draw is out for the 3rd round of the EFL, which will take place next month.  

Among others, defending champions Newcastle will face Bradford, while Liverpool have been drawn against Southampton. 

Meanwhile, Brentford will face Aston Villa in an all-Premier League tie.
