Potter Calls For Calm

Aug 27, 2025

potter calls for calm

West Ham boss Graham Potter has called for unity between the club and fans over their poor start to the season.

This is after stewards were forced to restrain the Hammers captain, after he tried to confront fans following this morning's EFL Cup defeat at Wolves.

The Hammers have lost all three matches in all competitions this season, conceding 11 goals.

--

Meanwhile, Wolves attacker Jorgen Strand Larsen has confirmed he wants to stay at the club.

He was recently linked with Newcastle, who are looking for replacements for want-away striker Alexander Isak.

--

Manchester United will face minnows Grimsby tomorrow morning, in the second round of the EFL Cup

It's the first meeting between the two clubs in over 70 years.

Hosts Grimsby are on a good run of form, as they are unbeaten this season and have a good home record.

Meanwhile United are still looking for their first win of the campaign, with one loss and a draw in the Premier League.

--

Separately, Man United have reportedly agreed in principle to send Antony back on loan to Spanish club Real Betis, this time with an obligation to buy.

The Brazil winger spent the second half of last season at Betis.
