Jun Hao Shines In His World Championship Opener

Leong Jun Hao has had a winning start to his campaign at the BWF World Championships, after beating his Swiss opponent in the first round.
Meanwhile in the women's singles, Goh Jin Wei lost her opening round match against an opponent from China.
Two other reps are in action today, namely K.Letshanaa in the first round, while Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun are playing in the second round of the men's doubles.

Newcastle's bid to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has reporteldy hit a setback, after their £50 million offer was rejected.
Wolves are also offering the Norwegian attacker an improved contract to persuade him to stay.
Previous reports said Liverpool's pursuit of Newcastle's Alexander Isak depends on the Magpies being able to sign Strand Larsen as a replacement.
Meanwhile, other reports claim that Newcastle's owners have met with Isak in a last-minute bid to convince him to stay at St James’ Park.
Isak's relationship with the Magpies has soured after being frozen out under boss Eddie Howe.

Meanwhile, Newcastle's Anthony Gordon has issued an apology after he was sent off in this morning's 3-2 Premier League defeat to Liverpool
He was initially yellow carded for a studs-up challenge on Virgil van Dijk, before the referee upgraded the booking to a straight red.
The attacker will miss Newcastle's next three games, against Leeds, Wolves and Bournemouth.
