Spain have suffered a frustrating start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, after they were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Greece.
Alvaro Morata had given the 2010 champions a first half lead, only for the Greeks to equalize from the penalty spot in the second period.

Four-time winners Germany are off to a flying start after a comfortable 3-0 win over Iceland.
Man City’s in-form midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was among the scorers.

Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided the assist in Sweden’s 1-0 win over Georgia…in what was the veteran striker’s first match for the national team in five years.
In other selected results…England hammered San Marino 5-0.
While Italy recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Northern Ireland.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to be offered a new three-year contract worth 30 million pounds at the end of the season.
UK sources say the Norwegian has done enough to convince the board of directors to keep him on…with the club currently second in the EPL table, and thru to the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
According to insiders, the offer will remain even if United finish the season empty-handed or lower than second in the league.

Lee Zii Jia’s absence from the Vietnam SEA Games later this year should not be a problem for the national badminton team.
The BAM’s youth technical director Datuk Misbun Sidek says there are a number of other young shuttlers capable of stepping up to the task.
This, following the BAM’s decision to stick with young players instead of seniors for the SEA Games…despite Zii Jia’s recent All England victory.
