2018 Ballon d'Or nominees list underway

The first five players to be shortlisted for the 2018 Ballon d'Or Award have been announced.
Real Madrid stars Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker, Man City striker Sergio Aguero and PSG's Edinson Cavani are among those who have made the cut so far.
Twenty-five other nominees will soon be announced, with a 30-man shortlist eventually being drawn up, ahead of the awards ceremony in Paris this December.
The Ballon d'Or is an annual football award presented by France Football magazine.
Over the past 10 years, the award has alternated between just two winners: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
