Diogo Jota’s ankle injury could be worse than initially feared.

According to reports, scans have shown that Jota will be absent for at least the short term, making him a doubt for Liverpool’s EFL Cup final against Chelsea next week.

The twisted ankle will also see Jota likely miss their upcoming Premier League matches against Norwich and Leeds.

Jota is Liverpool’s second top scorer this season, behind only Mo Salah, scoring 17 goals and three assists in 32 appearances.

Former Man United player Wayne Rooney says he was given a warning from the Football Association, following an interview he did earlier this month.

In the interview, he revealed that he wanted to injure an opposition player during a Man United-Chelsea match back in 2006.

The current Derby boss says he has since given his response to the FA, and that the matter is now closed.
