Liverpool win their first match of 2023

Jan 18, 2023

liverpool win their first match of 2023

Liverpool have beaten Wolves 1-nil in their FA Cup third round replay this morning.

An early first half goal from Harvey Elliot proved enough for the Reds.

They will play Brighton in the next round - a side who beat them 3-nil in the league just a few days ago.

Liverpool’s win this morning was also their first victory of 2023.

-

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has defended himself, saying their poor run of form is not completely his fault.

The Italian believes other parties at the club - like the sporting director - should also be held accountable.

Conte's contract is set to expire in the summer, with strong speculation that it will not be renewed.

-

British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has formally entered the bidding process to buy Man United.

Ratcliffe’s company... which owns clubs in France and Switzerland...had recently also tried to buy over Chelsea.

-

A Saudi businessman has won an auction for an all-access ticket to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi face off in a friendly, after bidding 2.6 million dollars.

The match in Riyadh will see PSG play a select set of players from Saudi clubs Al Nassr and Al Hilal.
