Aaron and Wooi Yik Are BAC Champs!

Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik have won the Badminton Asia Championship.
They defeated Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi of China 21-19, 21-17 in the final to lift the title without dropping a set all tournament.
Aaron and Wooi Yik are now the first Malaysian men’s doubles pair to win the BAC since Choong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah all the way back in 2007.

Still on our athletes…S. Sivasangari has crashed out in the second round of the El Gouna squash international after going down to Egypt’s Salma Hany.
This leaves Rachel Arnold as the only Malaysian left in the tournament.

Liverpool are on the verge of wrapping up the EPL title.
They defeated West Ham 2-1, to open up a 13-point lead at the summit over second-placed Arsenal with just six games to go.
The Reds can be crowned champions as early as next weekend, if they beat Leicester and The Gunners lose to Ipswich.

In other Premier League results…Newcastle moved up to fourth after thrashing Man United 4-1.
Wolves hammered Tottenham 4-2.
While Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Ipswich.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid survived having Kylian Mbappe sent off, to hold on for a 1-nil win over Alaves.
It moves them back to within four points of leaders Barcelona.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri has won the Bahrain F1 GP ahead of Mercedes driver George Russel and Lando Norris in the other McLaren.
It moves Piastri up to second in the driver’s standings three points behind Norris.

And, Marc Marquez has won the Qatar MotoGP taking the chequered flag ahead of Francesco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli.
