Liverpool Smashes Records in EFL Cup Semifinal Win

Feb 07, 2025

liverpool smashes records in efl cup semifinal win

Liverpool have set several new milestones following their EFL Cup semifinal win over Tottenham this morning.

They defeated Spurs 4-0 in the second leg to complete a 4-1 aggregate win.

It means Liverpool are now the all-time top scoring club in the EFL Cup with 521 goals.

They are also in the final for a record-extending 15th time.

They will also extend their record to 11 EFL Cup titles, if they beat Newcastle in the final in March.

Meanwhile, Man United boss Ruben Amorim admits he made a major gamble by not reinforcing his attack in last month’s transfer window, and it may cost him his job.

United were widely expected to sign a new forward after freezing out Marcus Rashford and allowing him to leave on loan.

And, Malaysian Badminton Academy head coach disagrees with plans to change the sports’ current points-scoring system.

Rexy Mainaky says the current 21-point system is good enough, adding that the Badminton World Federation should focus on more urgent matters.

Earlier, the BWF announced plans to reintroduce the 15-point system, with a trial to be conducted at several tournaments starting in April.
