Aug 06, 2024

paris 2024: nicol hails lee zii jia

Datuk Nicol David has praised Lee Zii Jia, for his performance in last night's Paris Olympics bronze medal playoff.

The Malaysian deputy chef de mission was especially proud of Zii Jia's never-say-die attitude, after he fought back from a set down to claim Malaysia's 2nd medal in Paris.

Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister Hanah Yeoh has urged Zii Jia's critics to put aside their personal feelings about the shutter and celebrate his achievement.

Meanwhile Zii Jia's podium finish means he has moved up one spot to 6th place in the latest badminton World Rankings.

Our women's doubles semifinalists, Pearly Tan/M. Thinaah are also up one spot, to become the new world no. 11.

--

Meanwhile our track cyclists will begin their Olympic campaign tomorrow.

Olympic debutant Nurul Izzah Izzati will be in action in the Keirin event.
