Zii Jia Delivers A Bronze For Malaysia

Aug 06, 2024

zii jia delivers a bronze for malaysia

Lee Zii Jia has won a second medal for Malaysia at the Paris Olympics, after beating Lakshya Sen of India for the bronze in the badminton men’s singles event.

The pro shuttler says he wants to use his achievement in Paris, as a launching pad for bigger things at the next edition of the Games in LA.

This is Malaysia’s second bronze from badminton in Paris, following the success of men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

Zii Jia is also now the third Malaysian after Datuk Rashid Sidek and Datuk Lee Chong Wei to earn an Olympic podium finish in the men’s singles event.

National track cycling coach John Beasley is expecting faster times due to the resurfaced track at the Paris velodrome.

However, he’s confident our cyclists can adapt…since all of them have raced at the venue before.

The Malaysian track cycling team is due to begin its campaign in Paris tomorrow.

France have made the final of the Olympic football event, after beating Egypt 3-1.

The hosts will next take on Spain in the gold medal match.

-

In other developments…PSG have completed the signing of Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, in a deal worth up to 60 million pounds.

The 19-year-old Portugal international had earlier been linked with a move to Man United.
