chelsea sack graham potter

Chelsea have sacked manager Graham Potter after less than seven months in charge.

It follows their 2-0 EPL home defeat to Aston Villa over the weeekend.

Potter suffered 11 defeats in 31 games since replacing Thomas Tuchel in September, leaving the Blues 11th in the EPL standings.

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim are reportedly among the candidates to take over at Stamford Bridge.

-

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has also been sacked as Leicester City manager, with the club currently second from bottom.

-

In last night’s EPL action, Newcastle leapfrogged above Man United into third in the standings on goal difference, after a 2-0 home win over the Red Devils.

While West Ham edged relegation strugglers Southampton 1-0.

-

Marco Bezzechi has won the Argentine MotoGP in what was his first victory in the Premier class.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Syarifuddin Azman finished a credible 11th in the Moto3 race...in his best finish since 2021

-

And Max Verstappen has won the Australian F1 GP ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
