Muhammad Azeem Fahmi is now the fastest man in Malaysia!

The 18-year-old sprinter set a new national 100m record with a time of 10.09 seconds at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships.

The previous national mark of 10.18 was set by Khairul Hafiz Jantan back in 2016.

-

Malaysia picked up a further two medals at the Commonwealth Games yesterday.

One of them was a silver from the women’s table tennis team.

The other was a bronze that came via Siti Zalina Ahmad in the women’s singles lawn bowls event.

There was also good news from our badminton mixed team…who qualified for the final after beating hosts England.

Our shuttlers will next face defending champions India for the gold medal early tomorrow morning.

-

Malaysia’s Abdul Latif Romly has won the gold medal in the F20 long-jump event at the ASEAN Para Games.

His jump of 7.2 meters put him ahead of compatriot Zulkifly Abdullah who took the silver.

-

Fernando Alonso has agreed to join the Aston Martin F1 team next season.

He will replace fellow former world champion Sebastian Vettel…who is retiring at the end of the current campaign.
