PDRM ready to enforce child car seat rule
Oct 24, 2019
PDRM will be ready to enforce the mandatory use of child car seats, when the ruling comes into force on January 1st next year.
Bukit Aman says for now, police are waiting for details from the Transport Ministry about how the ruling will be enforced.
Yesterday, the Ministry said it's still deciding on the penalty for not installing the seats, because it wants to focus on educating the public first.
Over 1,500 children aged 10 and below were killed in road accidents from 2007 to 2017, and the govt hopes the manatory child seat rule will deal with this.
