SPAN to probe latest water contamination case
Sep 30, 2019
The recent contamination at the Sg Semenyih water treatment plant was NOT due to sewage treatment operations.
The National Water Services Commission says instead it was likely caused by illegal waste dumping, NEAR a sewage plant in Cheras.
However it will conduct a full investigastion to find out what happened.
Odour contamination caused the treatment plant to be shut down on Saturday, disrupting water supplies to several districts in the Klang Valley.

Authorities in China have arrested a man nearly 2 decades after he escaped from a prison camp.
The fugitive had been serving time for human trafficking when he made his escape.
He was found hiding inside a remote cave, where he had been living alone for the past 17 years.
The man had been cut off from society for so long, it was difficult for him to communicate with the police officers who nabbed him.
