Make sure your vehicle is in good condition before travelling back to your hometown for Raya.
The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research advised motorists to especially take note of the condition of their tyres and brakes.
It also urged drivers to observe road safety rules, as the common causes of accidents are speeding, driving on the opposite lane, and overtaking other vehicles.
Miros adds that motorists need to get enough sleep before starting their journey, because just dozing off for one second while at the wheel can cause disaster.
