Starting next year, standard 1 students in Sarawak will learn Maths and Science in English.
But, the state government says this will be an exception for Chinese-medium schools, which prefer to continue teaching both subjects in Mandarin.
It says the Education Ministry will come up with a training module for the teachers, which will be ready by the end of August.
Textbooks for both subjects will be printed by the state, based on Dual Language Programme textbooks.

It also advised people to compare prices first, before buying anything.
This as consumers complained that Hari Raya clothes are more expensive compared to last year.

If you're driving back home for Hari Raya, try to avoid being on the road between the hours of 2 to 4pm, and from 3 to 5 am.
According to the Malaysian Sleep Apnea Association these are the hours when a driver is most likely to feel tired and succumb to 'microsleep'..
It's a momentary loss of consciousness that is one of the contributing factors to road accidents.
The Association also told Utusan, that the risk of being affected by microsleep increases when you drive long distances, or along straight roads.
It's also more likely to affect people who don't get enough sleep.
