News Wrap-up: IPCMC inches closer to reality

The govt's proposed Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission, or IPCMC is inching closer to becoming a reality.
This, despite resistance from the police to set up the commission.
The National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Centre says progress was made following positive talks with senior PDRM members, including new IGP Seri Abdul Hamid Bador.
They discussed PDRM's grievances and the force finally agreed to have the IPCMC set up.
The IPCMC is a police oversight body that investigates police misconduct.

The Sedition Act could be abolished by as early as this year!
The de facto Law Minister says the Cabinet has agreed to do so.
HW, he says that a new formula will be introduced to replace the much criticised Act, after its abolished.
In addition, the govt is also considering to come up with anti-stalking laws.

RON97 petrol will go down 10 sen to RM2.70 per litre starting midnight tonight - the biggest drop since the new fuel price mechanism started.
Meanwhile RON 95 remains at the ceiling price of RM2.08 per litre.
Diesel is also unchanged at RM2.18.
