Klang Valley, hands up if you're ready for the water cut!

Apr 24, 2019

We hope you saved water 'cause today is the start of the 86-hour Klang Valley water disruption.

Taps will run dry from 9am and some areas will regain supply within 24 hours, but others will have to wait up to four days.

Syabas is providing water tankers and temporary pipes at strategic locations like schools, mosques and business centres.

Meanwhile, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister has warned traders not to take advantage of the situation.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said so far, enforcers have not found any traders hiking the prices of water containers, but assured it will not compromise if it received any reports.

PTPTN moves to rake in more poor parents

PTPTN plans to improve its matching grant incentive for its savings scheme, to encourage more parents to save for their children's education.

The scheme, implemented last year, provided a matching grant of RM500, only for those who deposited RM500.

PTPTN plans to upgrade the scheme so that even parents who deposit RM10, will get a matching amount.

Datuk Lat slams Doraemon showcase for Visit Malaysia 2020

The creator of the cartoon 'Lat' is disappointed with the National Art Gallery's decision to promote a Doraemon exhibition in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020.

The Gallery's chairman said the Japanese-themed exhibition will indirectly promote Malaysia in the eyes of the world.

However, Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid, affectionately known as Datuk Lat, said he's disappointed local cartoons were not used instead.

The creators of wildly popular local characters Upin and Ipin also vented their frustrations on Facebook.
