Govt to extend special penalty rate for taxpayers
Apr 08, 2019
Good news for tax defaulters...
The government is extending the special penalty rate until June 30th.
The penalty for unpaid taxes was reduced from 300% to just 10% in February, before being increased slightly to 15% this month.
But the Finance Minister now says the special rate of 10% will be extended until June 30th, because of overwhelming response from taxpayers.
After that, the penalty will rise to 15% and subsequently up further to 45%.
