Skilled workers from overseas may soon be banned from coming to work in Malaysia

We might be seeing a steep decrease in the number of expats in Malaysia soon.
The government is thinking about not issuing work visas anymore to expats who earn below RM10,000.
As a first step, they're targeting Category 3 skilled workers, who earn below RM5,000 a month, such as chefs and technicians.
The Human Resources Minister says fewer people are applying for these visas, while the government is also confident locals can take on and handle these jobs.
35 police reports lodged during campaign period for the Semenyih by-election

Ahead of tomorrow's Semenyih by-election, the police have received 35 reports including from a man who claims he has been threatened to vote for a particular candidate.
It's unclear who the candidate is, but the man lodged a police report saying he feared for his family's safety.
The Semenyih by-election, which was called for after its incumbent passed away, will be a 4-cornered fight between Pakatan, BN, PSM and an independent activist.

The infamous TV interview where ex-PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak walked off in a huff has won broadcaster Al Jazeera "Interview of the Year" at an awards ceremony.
Najib walked off while being questioned about matters like 1MDB and a pink diamond his wife allegedly possessed.
