The driver who caused yesterday's Penang Bridge car crash was high on drugs during the accident.
Police said the information is based on a blood test conducted on the 21-year-old, who survived the accident and has been hospitalised.
Meanwhile, experts are dragging anchors along the seabed around the Penang Bridge to find the driver whose car fell into the sea.
The search and rescue operation for the 20-year-old college student resumed at 7am today.

Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu is about to take legal action against Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin for defamation.
This, over Khairy's continued statements accusing Mat Sabu of using an Armed Forces helicopter to campaign in the Cameron Highlands by-election.
Sabu had already explained photos of him with the helicopter in the background was taken during an official visit, 3 days before the nomination day.

And Pakistanis are marrying local women so they can operate their businesses and remain in Malaysia for longer.
The Kelantan Immigration Department has tracked down 400 of them so far.
Authorities became suspicious after they found several Pakistanis aged between 20 and 30 marrying women who are more than 50 years old to stay in Malaysia.
