Penang could be a smoke free island in 5 years!

However, the state exco member who announced the proposed cigarette ban conceded there will be many hurdles with implementation.

As it stands, 6 public recreational parks on the island and the Georgetown World Heritage Site are no smoking areas.

Separately, a man in Penang died after he was crushed by a tree branch while riding his motorcycle home. 

His 3-year-old daughter who was on the bike with him suffered multiple injuries.

The MACC has raided the Companies Commision of Malaysia for the 3rd time this week.

They reportedly spent close to 6 hours searching for files and documents in connection to a probe into a 500 million ringgit project scandal.

And Bukit Aman is waiting for the govt to respond to its call for aid, as it claims most of the police stations in the country need to be upgraded or completely rebuilt.

The Criminal Investigation Department director said most police stations are more than 30 years old, with some starting to rot.
