The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has stepped down!

Sultan Muhammad the Fifth has only been king for 2 years, and made M'sian history last night by becoming the first king to do so.

The 9 Malay rulers will determine a successor amongst themselves in a secret vote.

The Education Minister has resigned as IIUM president.

In other news:

The Met Department says the hot weather over the past few days is because of a lack of rain due to the movements of tropical storm Pabuk. 

But wind conditions are expected to return to normal now that the storm has moved out of the country.

A thunderstorm in Perak damaged over 20 houses yesterday, ripping off roofs and sweeping away outdoor furniture. 

The Ipoh City Council is planning a gotong-royong to help repair affected houses, while affected residents will receive aid from the state govt.

And the Penang man who splashed hot water on his 8-year-old daughter for eating his dinner, has finally been arrested. 

He and his wife were nabbed in front of a durian shop yesterday.
