KL High Court allows Gadek rep to apply for bail

The KL High Court has given the greenlight for the Gadek assemblyman to apply for bail, amid investigations over his links to terror group LTTE.
The court ordered the Sessions Court to hear his bid for bail eventhough he is being detained under the Security Offences Special Measures Act, Sosma.
In usual circumstances, the court will not be allowed to grant bail to offenders detained under Sosma.
Sarawak has denied rumours that it opposes the Federal govt's move to raise the minimum legal marriageable age to 18.
It says the state has 3 legal systems for marriage, which are civil, shariah and customary.
It adds, each has its own set of guidelines.
First HIV/AIDS case detected in 1986

The Health Ministry says the first HIV/AIDS case in Malaysia was detected in 1986.
It adds that so far, more than 43 thousand people have died due to the virus.
Last year, over 3 thousand NEW HIV cases were detected in this country.
In conjunction with World Aids Day this Sunday, the Ministry also noted that more than half of the HIV cases in Malaysia last year, were transmitted via male homosexual intercourse.
