Arrests made over Tawau elephant killing

6 people have been arrested over last week's brutal killing of an elephant in Tawau, Sabah.
Police also seized a shotgun, and recovered one of the elephant's tusks.
According to police, 2 of the suspects were security personnel employed by a plantation to take care of elephants entering the area, and another was an illegal immigrant
The elephant's remains were found in Tawau last week, and photos of the animal went viral on social media.
An autopsy found that it had more than 70 bullet wounds, while its tusks were missing.

Schools already provide martial arts classes as an extra-curricular activity, and it's up to parents and students to sign up for them.
The Education Ministry said this, amid calls to make self defence classes compulsory.
This comes after the attempted rape of an 11-year-old in Sabah recently.
According to reports, the girl managed to escape from her would-be attacker, by poking his eye with an ice-cream stick.

The death toll from yesterday's bridge collapse in Taiwan has risen to 4, while 2 others are still missing.
Another 12 people were injured when the bridge suddenly came down, smashing a number of fishing boats that were moored underneath.
Taiwanese prosecutors have launched a probe into what caused the collapse.
