The Johor Education Dept is set to meet with a teacher, and the parents of a female student whom he allegedly caned.

The Education Ministry says it will only decide on the next course of action after this meeting

Meanwhile, its deputy minister also pointed out that teachers are not allowed to cane female students, as per the current SOP.

A recent viral video showed a woman, believed to be the girl's mother, confronting the male teacher about the caning, which left her with several bruises on her arm and leg.

The MACC says it will charge Zahid in both sessions courts in KL and Shah Alam tomorrow and the following day

He was arrested yesterday when he turned up at the MACC HQ in Putrajaya but has since been released on bail.

This is on top of the 47 charges he is already facing.

Tun M calls for stern action against those responsible for Pasir Gudang pollution incident

The Prime Minister says the recent air pollution in Pasir Gudang, Johor should not have happened, especially so soon after the Sungai Kim Kim incident in March.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad criticised factories in the area, saying it seems that they are not concerned about safety.

Meanwhile, all 475 schools, kindergartens and higher learning institutions there have been closed until Thursday as a precaution, while the pollution is cleared.

Also,  the Education Ministry says it will not stop parents, who intend to take action against the culprits behind the latest pollution incident.
