Cops left divided over new window tint ruling

May 08, 2019

Mixed reaction to new tint ruling

The police are divided over the new vehicle tint ruling.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department complained to Berita Harian, that the Transport Ministry did not seek its opinion about the new ruling.

It said, the new rules will make it more difficult to catch drivers who use their phones behind the wheel or who don't wear their seatbelts.

The KL branch of traffic police, however, is a bit more optimistic... saying a darker tint can help prevent break ins because robbers wouldn't be able to see valuables inside people's cars.

However, it conceded some criminals could take advantage of this and hide in cars while waiting for their victims.

Your balik kampung trip could cost more

Express bus fares could go up by as much as 30% this Raya holidays!

Express bus companies are hoping the government will allow the fare hike for the Raya season, as they claim bus fares have remained stagnant for the past 11 years.

They also claim bus operators are suffering up to RM20,000 worth of losses per month.

Relax...no one is spying on you

The MCMC is not spying on your WhatsApp.

It said a rumour claiming it was monitoring certain phones in Malaysia is false and baseless.

It also reminded Malaysians not to be so gullible and to stop sharing unverified news.
